Dog of The Day-8-23-2019


Name:	Bubba	Age:	Ten years old

Home:	Lehigh Acres, Florida, USA
Hi, this is Bubba, a German Pinscher. He is always on duty holding down any comfortable piece of furniture and gives his unconditional love. He lives in Lehigh Acres with his proud parents Ron and Cathy (he is our baby). He is our first pinscher. Bubba and I met when I rescued him after a lady dropped him in a parking lot when the temperature outside was -10. Bubba was six weeks old, and had been beaten badly. Now he loves to play tug of war with his toys. He loves small children and rides to the ice cream store. He is always by my side no matter where I go. He likes to play with other animals, except he hates snakes. He loves to eat and talks to you when he is hungry. He can fetch as long as you are willing to throw. Bubba walks with me any where without a leash. He Is very good watch dog, too. He loves to be petted, but is very protective of his domain, always chasing birds out of the yard He has to have his blanket at night, and likes to be covered completely. My wife and I are both 70 and have always had pets, but with Bubba he owns us!

   Arnold is a five-month-old Dogue de Bordeaux, also called a French Mastiff. He is a very loving dog who sleeps in our bed and pushes up out. He loves to eat my daughters' socks so he is known around our house as Mr. Sock Monster. He loves to play on the park and watch the football.  But at five months old he is already the size of a small pony. 

     Arnold is from the North West of England. Do not let that sad face fool you, he really is a happy puppy, albeit a huge mush. He loves nothing more than to slobber all over us and try to get on our knee.

   Will is extra special, as we got him from a rescue home. He has had three different homes in his short life, but despite the ill treatment he has received in the past he has a superb temperment. We have no idea how anyone could ever mistreat or neglect this sweet boy, look at that face! 

     He loves to play with his teddies  - he carries them around and tosses them about, he does not destroy them. And he will never miss a chance to play ball, even in the 

pouring rain. If you will throw, he will run, and he runs like the wind. He is a great companion, with an adorable but cheeky personality.

   Holly is a very special little puppy as she was the runt of the litter. Although her size is still very small in comparison to other Corgis of her age, she has a very caring and intelligent nature.  She has been such an easy little girl to train and my husband and I love her to bits. 

     Holly has a big sister who is also a Pembroke Corgi called Mindy who also is very intelligent (no wonder the Queen has Corgis) and they adore each other. Mindy is teaching Holly all sorts of Corgi secrets, we are sure. She may never get much bigger, but she already has won a huge place in all our hearts.

   I would love to introduce my dog Mercedes. She is a seven-year-old Doberman that lives with us in Pittsburgh. What makes Mercedes special is her personality. Her entire life she has been wonderfully sassy and a bit of a bossy boots. She requires constant physical attention like pets and kisses, and she does not hesitate to push herself into you to get them! She's hilariously vocal and demanding as well, a very spoiled princess of a dog.  

     But her most amazing quality is her ability to know exactly when I need her, every single time. Even though she isn't a therapy dog officially, she can read my emotions better than I can myself. She is wonderful at comforting me before I even am aware that I need her. And as touchy feely as she is, I'm the only one that gets kisses on a regular basis. Her super power is reminding me how much she loves me, and how much I love her.
