Bo the Shih Tzu, Maltese mix, the Dog of the Day

This is Bo, and he's five to seven years old (I'm not sure the exact age). He's my best friend. He's always there when I feel sad, he's an equitable boy (especially when we go for walks), and he loves belly rubs. He's my first dog, He's very excitable and loves to play. H only knows to sit and come, which is fine with me. He's affectionate, but also protective, so I always know when there is a visitor, or some other "danger." . He's a Shih Tzu-Maltese, and he's VERY picky about his food and treats. But I love him very much, just the way he is!

   Our dog's name is Tinker, just a name I liked for a little pup. Nothing and everything makes him special to us.  He makes sure both his Mom and Dad are in bed no later than 10:00 or he will keep coming and patting the one who is still up, on the leg, telling them to come to bed. 

     When there is company he pulls all his toys and bones from his toy box and leaves them scattered all over the floor after chewing on them for a short time.  Then he just lays on the floor and watches everyone.  He has his very own chair that he sits on like a human and looks out the window for hours.  He does not like the squirrels that come to visit in the summer and we are trying to find a way to stop his barking at them.	 

     He is a gentle soul and we love him to bits.  He was the last of his litter to be chosen and we are so glad he was there for us to bring home.   He is such a little comedian and doesn't even know it.

   Hi, my name is Bagsy.  I am a nine-year-old boxer, and am starting to show my age around my jowls.  It's okay, Dad heard someone refer to that white as "sugar face" - and that fits. Boxer kisses are sweet, right? 

     But it wasn't always this way.  In fact, I got my name because I was so wrinkly and baggy when I was a young pup (ahh...to be young again!).  Anyway, I live in Stoneham, Massachusetts and have two loving people as pets. They had children, but I decided to give them away to other caring dogs. This picture was taken for a holiday card to send to all our relatives.  I think red is a very flattering color on me.  Don't you think?

Bella came to us when she was such a shy little girl, trembling constantly.  She has grown into such a loving happy baby girl.  A friend had her and one night we decided to just get her out of the blue. We now realize it was the best decision ever made.
  
     She is such a water baby, she loves any body of water, from a small stream to the Atlantic Ocean.  She is Jack Russell as part of her mix and when she is excited she does a jumping spin in place!  She is very much a momma and daddy girl.  And she loves to visit Home Depot and see all her friends, old and new.

   The first thing most people notice about me are my huge ears and paws. Well, after all, I am a Basset and big ears come with the territory. My Mommy and Daddy used to tell me unless I kept them out of my food bowl they were going to tie them up for me, in case I was very hungry and tried to eat them! But they are good for saving food on for those late night snacks! 

     The fun stuff I do to annoy my Mommy and Daddy are to lose my collar in the yard in the middle of a snow storm, chew on my sister Branda Leigh's short Basset ears, or sleep in the middle of the big waterbed, and refuse to move when they come to bed! I guess I should sleep on the waterbed they bought for me and Branda Leigh, but why, isn't getting thrown off my parent's bed half the fun of being a puppy? Besides with a face like mine, who would do it anyways? Now to just figure out why I can't play with those Bassets they keep in a cage! 

     Mom here. As for Iggy, he's the love of my life. We had to put down our oldest son Syren (Shepherd/Lab mix) because of cancer and Iggy came along right after that. He has so many of Syren's traits, and he just loves his sister to death! I couldn't ask for a better pal when I'm sick, sad or just in a bad mood.  (And as for the Bassets in a cage he wonders about, they're my pet rats.)
