Dog of the Day-12-9-2019

Kirby the Boxer, the Dog of the Day
Name:Kirby
Age:Four years old
Gender:MaleBreed:Boxer
Home: Greenville, North Carolina, USA

My precious Kirby is so special to me! He is the nephew of my last boxer Murphy, who sadly died at the young age of seven from lymphoma.  Kirby was a wild, energetic puppy and did not like to be left alone.  He would "freak out" and tear up the window blinds and cry terribly until my return.  I hired a professional separation anxiety trainer to help me and it worked wonders!  It seemed to take forever, but after months of hard work I could leave him for longer periods of time and he will calmly look out the window and remain patient until my return.  I got a camera to watch him and I still enjoy seeing him relax while I am away.  I am so proud of him!  I don't worry about leaving him alone now because he knows Mommie will return.

He still has his wild moments thought and is such a silly clown most of the time. He makes me happy and keeps me smiling! Anyone who knows the Boxer breed knows they remain puppies throughout their entire life.  I hope we have many healthy years together.  I love my Kirby!!

Dog of the Day-12-10-2019

Phoebe & Ash the Labrador Retrievers, the Dog of the Day
Name:Phoebe, Ash
Age:Two years old
Gender:Female, MaleBreed:Labrador Retriever
Home: Ohio, USA

Phoebe is the pretty yellow Lab in the green kerchief, and Ash is the handsome black Lab with the red kerchief. They may look all grown up and calm here, but trust me, they are still very much puppies at heart.

Both Phoebe and Ash are two years old and add so much fun and live to our home and lives - there's never a dull moment. While they are so willing to please and comfort and and are strangers to no one, you can't take your eyes off them for one second. What one doesn't think of, the other does, and they are constantly involved in some sort of mischief. But we couldn't love them anymore than we do!
Hugs,

Angel

Lily the Yorkshire Terrier, the Dog of the Day
Name:Lily
Age:Seventeen years old
Gender:FemaleBreed:Yorkshire Terrier
Home: Connecticut, USA

Lily is an seventeen-year-old Yorkie - Yorkshire Terrier officially, but more people know the breed by its nickname.  She loves to cuddle and go for long car rides. She often takes rides to see her family members at college. Lily loves to play with her toys and to meet new people. Her favorite food is cheese. She is very girly and often wears pink, though will consent to red for the holiday season. She has many different hairstyles and likes wearing little bows in her hair.

Lily is a big part of our family in a small package, and we love her a lot!

Dog of the Day-12-13-2019

Princess the Pug, the Dog of the Day
Name:Princess
Age:Thirteen years old
Gender:FemaleBreed:Pug
Home: Naples, Florida, USA

Princess is our awesome little pug, and her name suits her - she is really a princess, She has her own doggie beds, low enough for her to easily climb in and out. Her tongue often hangs out, as she does have that typical pug crooked teeth and small mouth, but enough "licker" to spare. Adorable, right?

She can snore up a storm to rival our Naples thunderstorms, but that is just part of what makes her precious to us. She is our personal pug royalty, and we love and spoil her accordingly.

Love & Hugs,

Angel

Dog of the Day-12-14-2019

Bella the Italian Greyhound, the Dog of the Day
Name:Bella
Age:Six years old
Gender:FemaleBreed:Italian Greyhound
Home: Woodbury, New Jersey, USA

This is my little girl Bella, she's a six-year-old rescued Italian Greyhound I adopted in June.   Bella lives in Woodbury NJ with her brother Dino, an IG mix, and her sister Priscilla, a rescued Greyhound.   Bella is just the sweetest little girl who wants to be with you all day, and she just loves to cuddle.  And boy does she love treats!  Bella loves to wear her coats, and willingly sits for me to dress her.  This is my favorite picture of Bella, as she is posing like a little holiday Diva!

Bella's personality is very affectionate, she loves attention and loves to cuddle.    Bella is so smart, that every night after dinner, she goes over to the kitchen cabinet where she knows her treats are, and taps the cabinet with her paw until she gets one!  She started doing this the second day she was in my home, and picked this up quite quickly!   She loves to have her head rubbed, and if you stop she reaches out with her paw and taps you until you start rubbing her head again.   At bedtime, she sits and waits for her treat, and then hops into bed and climbs under the blankets cuddled up next to me, and stays there the entire night.

Bella changed so much since I adopted her, when I went to meet her at the adoption place, she wouldn't even look at me, she seemed nervous and tense.   But during the two-hour ride home, I noticed her look up at me a few times and then she licked my hand and settled in my lap for a nap.  She's now in her forever home and is loved more than anything.
Hugs,

Angel
