Hi, my name is Barkley, and I'm the "paw"-fect pet!  I'm a shep/lab who's ten years young and I live with my family in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, in the good ol' USA.   My mommy rescued me from a shelter when I was eight weeks old. I love to play with my little brother Rufus, who's also a Shepherd/Lab and my cousins, also labs, that live on my Aunt Kathy's farm in New York.      Snow is my favorite thing; I could roll in it for hours! Mommy is especially proud of my singing.  She helps me tune up in the morning.  Together we sing a pretty good duet.  I even sing for guests when I'm in the mood. My mommy and Daddy are going to have a baby in August!  Rufus and I are very excited!  Baby cries make me nervous so mommy says we can practice with a tape.  I'll get to chew a rawhide bone ... yummy! while I hear the tape of baby cries.  Mommy says this will help me to relax.  I think it's a great way to get a bone!

Dog of the day-9-29-2019

‍Name:	Penelope	Age:	One year old
Gender:	Female	Breed:	Golden Retriever, Saint Bernard mix
Home:	Connecticut, USA
This is Penelope (also known - more often - as Penny) she is about a year old and she's my best friend! She is a Golden Saint (half Golden Retriever, half Saint Bernard) - or maybe a Saint Retriever or Golden Bernard? Anyway, she is Penny, and her own unique self.      Our good friend breeds beautiful Saint Bernards and Goldens here in Connecticut where we live. So I have known Penny since she was first born.        I am 15 years old and homeschooled, and Penny is my friend. She keeps me happy and I do the same for her. She loves to snuggle up in bed with me, too. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals - especially if they make animal noises!I love her so much!

Dog of the day-10-2-2019

Name:	Lizzy	Age:	Five years old
Gender:	Female	Breed:	Labrador Retriever mix
Home:	Medina, Ohio, USA
My dog's name is Lizzy, and she is a five-year-old Yellow Lab Mix. Mixed with what we do not know, but something smaller, as she is not as big or as square as a purebred Labrador. But she is obviously mostly yellow Lab, and sweet as can be.      What makes Lizzy special is that I had decided, when my other dog had passed on,  that I wanted another dog that needed a home to help me cope with my loss.  A friend of the family works for the SPCA, and she brought over Lizzy for a weekend to see how we like her.      When I first saw her,  I was not sure if this would work out.  But after that weekend I knew I would be keeping Lizzy forever.  She is a "people dog," always wanting your attention, even if she just met you. She loves everyone, that's all there is to it.      That said, she is definitely attuned to me, too. She is there for me during the times I need her the most. I love her very much.
