Dog of The Day-2-9-2020


Name:	Bijou	Age:	Six years old
Gender:	Female	Breed:	Australian Cattle Dog
Home:	Houston, Texas, USA
This is Bijou - she is a six-year-old Australian Cattle Dog. We now live on a sailboat in Houston, Texas. Bijou was a farm dog for the first five years of her life. I then took her from the farm and put her on a sailboat - where she had to learn to be confined to small quarters, but the world is at her beck and call. She is the MSD - Mighty Ship's Dog - in charge of security on the boat. Since she can no longer herd cattle, she has adapted by chasing pelicans and seagulls! She seems to enjoy the breeze in her fur, and watching the horizon as we go, and developed her sea legs faster than any human I have ever met. She is a much loved girl. Hugs, Angel

 Dog of The Day-2-10-2020

Gender:FemaleBreed: Australian Shepherd, Dachshund mix

   Diva is a shelter pup, who we got when she was a year old.  She is a mixed breed, half Australian Shepherd and half Dachshund, which gives her her unique appearance.  

     She loves people (depends though - she's love you if you're not a man in a hat!) and is really smart.  She does agility, tricks, rally, and obedience.  She has titles in agility getting her into Open.  She was found with a pig when she came to the shelter.  She hates men in hats which brings us to believe that the person who owned her originally was a man in a hat.   

     The shelter people told us that she was at the shelter before and adopted.  After a month, they found her on the roads again. Whether she ran away or someone threw her out, we wil never know.  I guess she was looking for her true owner, and now she is in her forever home.

   Bullet is a deaf pitbull terrier. He is all white, and that carries a risk for being deaf, but he does not seem to notice he is different in any way. He is, like most members of his breed, just full of love. He is funny, he loves his toys, but specifically likes snake stuffed animals to play with. He is more than a little spoiled, he makes a sad face when he doesnâ€™t get to lay under the covers with you. He is so sweet, and every moment melts your heart.  

     He is a true pitbull, he tends to wiggle when happy, and has been known to try to walk through things, just lowering that big block head to to push whatever obstacle he encounters out of his way. He is my big boy. My own sweet Bullet.

   Hi, my name is Sofia I'm five years old and live with my (human) mom and dad. They tell me I'm very spoiled. And they tell me I'm very pretty.   I like to run and play with kids and other dogs. When ever anyone comes to my house I like to think they are coming to see me. I have a big yard to run in and I  like to lay out in my drive way and watch the kids come home from school. They always stop to talk to me.  

     My mom and dad rescued me when I was 11 weeks old. I had surgery on my back legs and they took care of me. I can sit up pretty and I know how to shake hands, too.  I love to play frisbee. I sit in my  yard  and watch the squirrels play and run along my fence . I can be very affectionate and independent when I want too. I have a cousin named Sadia who is a black lab, she comes over to play and stay all night some times. Happy Valentine's Day and we hope you are all as loved as I am!

 Dog of The Day-2-15-2020

Name:Snoopy, Jacky 
Age:Four years old, Three years old
Gender:Male, FemaleBreed: Hunting Dog mix, Border Collie mix
Home: Germany
 
   I have two dogs. Their names are Snoopy and Jacky. Snoopy is mostly white, with brown ears and some spots, and is a hunting-dog mix. Jacky is a black, white and brown border collie mix, so although they have similar coloring, they have very different personalities.  

     Snoopy likes to play and Jacky likes to snuggle. They are so sweet. I like them very much. 

     When I go for a walk with them, they are very happy, because they can play together and with other dogs. They like going to the beach as there are many things to sniff, and birds to chase. Jacky loves to swim, too. 

     At home they've got their own places. Jacky is smart and can do many tricks. For example: when I say 'Peng' to her, she drops like she is dead. That's very fun and cute. I love them so much.  I can't live without my dogs.
