Dog of the Day-8-4-2019


Name:	Maggie	Age:	Six years old
Gender:	Male	Breed:	Jack Russell Terrier
Home:	Delaware, USA
Maggie is a rough-coated Jack Russell Terrier. She has been a great dog from the minute we brought her home! She sleeps under the covers at night and loves to play fetch. Maggie is a great communicator. She lets me know when she is ready for a walk by bringing me my sneakers. If I'm ready for a walk, all I need to do is tell her to "get my sneakers" and she finds them, wherever they are, and drops them at my feet. Maggie is definitely in charge and thinks it's her responsibility to discipline the cat when she does something wrong like scratch at the furniture.

 Dog of the Day-8-5-2019

   This is our Diamond in the Ruff!  We adopted him for our son on his 14th birthday from the local Humane Society before he had to spend even one night there.  My husband had never been so mad at me before than when I brought Diamond home.  Of course, guess who loves him the most now! 

     We chose "him"because the paper on the kennel said "he" was a "she."  Well, we didn't find out until we got him home that they made a mistake.  He and our two girls (cats - Sapphire and Jade) are total gems in our house. 

     He has the sweetest disposition.  We are looking into training him as a therapy dog, because he is so gentle and loving.

 Dog of the Day-8-6-2019

Gender:FemaleBreed: Terrier mix

   Missy is a ten-year-old terrier mix. What kind of terrier, mixed with what else I really have no idea. But it doesn't matter, anyway. I got her from the Humane Society when she was only nine months old and she has been my constant companion ever since. 

     She is a funny girl, and values her routimes above all. Whenever she sees me slip off my shoes, she runs to get my slippers.  She is not barky like people believe all terrier are. She does not bark at all unless we are playing quite hard. In fact, the first time she barked, she scared herself. 

     One year she was chosen for the September page of our local  Humane Society calendar, being chosen from over 1200 entries.  She is truly a man's - and in my case woman's - best friend. She is my little Missy, and I love her very much.

Age:Three and a half months old
Gender:MaleBreed: Terrier mix
Home: Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA
 
   Jack is still a youngster.  He will be four months old in two weeks.  He was born in North Carolina, but now lives on a island in South Carolina.  Puppy class was fun, but he wanted to be active and not stand still for the instructor to talk.  He only attended class to play with his other puppy friends.  There is no stranger to Jack.  He loves to meet new humans and dogs.  

      His favorite place to go is to the bank (where they have treats) and to the beach.  He can run and play with all his dog friends at the beach and dig all the holes in the sand that he can.  Chasing all the birds are great fun and really keeps him on the run.  At night he likes to sit on anyone's lap to rest up for the next day.  His favorite trick at home is running through the house with his Dad's size 13 shoe.  The bigger Jack gets the faster he can carry the shoe.  So far he has been caught with the shoe every time.  Jack is learning his commands, but still has a mind of his own.  He is very typical of the Dalmatian breed and is always active.

   Jasmine is my wonderful little girl.  She is seven months old, and is a real sweetheart. She loves to cuddle at night but play like a pup during the day.   

      Though she is not the best behaved baby in the world  - after all, she is still a puppy -  she is wonderful to everyone. And maybe that paper towel needed shredding, anyway?  She is full of joy and happiness.   

      She was a birthday gift to me because I lost my little one before her, just five days before my birthday.  So far she has done a wonderful job helping me though the hard time of loosing my other baby who sadly died while being spayed.
