Name:	Dexter	Age:	Eight years old
Gender:	Male	Breed:	Miniature Pinscher, Dachshund mix
Home:	Prince George, British Columbia, Canada
Dexter is eight years old, loves his daily walks at Ginter's and naps.  He is not very fond his visits to the vet, though. He's lived in Prince George all his life.      I got Dexter eight years ago when I retired, wanting a reason (purpose) to keep active by taking him for walks. He's not fond of winter (cold weather), but we still go out, just not long periods of time. He wears his jacket, as he is just not that fluffy! He is my first dog, and I was looking for a "lap" dog, but Dexter is independent, and only sits on my lap when he wants to, not when I want him.      On our walks at Ginter's Dog Park (here in Prince George  where we live), he approaches all dogs, small or large. He does not seem to be afraid of anything. He does not do any tricks, but let's you know when he wants to go for a car ride.  He has his own car seat, with allows him to see out the windows when I drive.      Dexter seems to have unlimited energy.  He will approach other dog owner at the dog park and sits, indicating to them that he wants a treat. He is a smart boy, and keeps life interesting!

Oh, have I got the nose! There's little that escapes my attention and I'll howl more than just a little to let you know. Shhh, don't  tell anyone, but but my nose has gotten me into a little trouble with my new family since I've run away hunting for deer a few times. I don't mean to run away, just that smell needs to be investigated, and ... Well, you know how that goes! I love my new family, they adopted me from a shelter after a four-month stay when I was given up.        I used to live outside in a kennel, but now I have my own chair to sleep in and a brand new fleece lined bed in Mom and Dad's bedroom. I just don't understand why they won't let me sleep with them on the big bed all night though, they just cuddle with me in bed in the morning! They told me about their dog before me, Rusty. I'm glad he got my new family ready for me. Every day keeps getting better and more fun ... Wait! What's that I smell?!? Hoowwwwllllllllll
