Rainy is special because as my boyfriend works overnight and I have to come home to an empty house most nights, we got her to keep me company. She is always there to say hi and play and keep me on my toes. She's just like a baby, except I can't put her in a bouncer!      She's very smart as she is one of the best in her obedience class and she will be starting agility soon. And she is already showing her "shepherd" genes in that she is protective of me, and alerts me to any dangers. We do disagree on whether or not certain items, like the vacuum cleaner, are life-threatening, but she is still a puppy, after all. So as this wo"mans best friend," I want to honor Rainy.

Name:	BB Dashie	Age:	Six years old
Gender:	Female	Breed:	Shiba Inu mix

BB Dashie (I like to just call her Dashie) is my uber excitable, playful, and hyper little Shiba Inu mix(at least that's what she looks like to me. I've seen other Shiba Inu mixes on the internet and tv that look just like her. It's just a theory though.). My parents poke fun at her because of her really long legs, but she uses them to gracefully hop over any obstacle in her path. She loves to play fetch, but sometimes she doesn't quite bring the ball back. Currently, the only tricks she knows are sit and speak.        Some people see little dogs as "ankle biters" but Dashie is far from an ankle biter. She's more of a hair puller and ear nibbler. But she does it all in fun.      We got her at a thrift store (sounds silly doesn't it?). This man had a whole litter of cute adorable little puppies. But when I picked up my little Dashie, it was love at first sight. The 'BB' part of her name is a tribute to a dog we had when I was little, named Baby Bear. The 'Dashie' part was my idea.        Dashie loves my two cats, Sweetie and Simba. Simba attempts to ignore her. He's not a dog-loving type. But Dashie and Sweetie go at it sometimes and it's funny to watch them wrestle. I love her very much!

 Dog of the Day  -7-23-2019

Name:	Kiko	Age:	Two years old
Gender:	Male	Breed:	Terrier mix
Home:	Chicago, Illinois, USA
So this is Kiko, whose story is as equally grand as the personality he has, which ironically are both larger than his actual size. Originally from Texas, Kiko seemed to have fallen into our lives at the perfect time. Having lost our previous dog Leo to an untimely death in conjunction with compounding life issues it seemed as if Kiko crossed our path for a reason. It's as if the stars aligned when we were presented with an opportunity to adopt him from his previous owners who unfortunately couldn't care for him. So with two negative situations coming together a positive outcome was forged in the form of a beautiful companionship between Kiko and I.      Ever since we brought Kiko to our residence in Chicago we have become closer like we had known each other for years. You would be hard pressed to find Kiko on his own because he loves to be with any one at any time. Especially when Kiko senses someone in distraught, he will automatically go over to them in an effort to try and comfort them. This is what I think makes Kiko special or at least to me. Kiko will always go out of his way to ensure that you are okay regardless of his needs. Whether it's goofing around or simply sitting by your side Kiko knows what to do in any given situation.        Now to sum things up, Kiko may be small in stature but rest assured he has made a great impression on our lives. As a result I cherish each and every moment I get to spend with him because it's something I'll never get back. He may be a punk every now and then but I know at the end of the day he'll be there for me and those around me. I guess you can say he's the perfect embodiment of the saying "man's best friend."

MM name is Chichi, and I am such a sweety and so tender, that my mommy forgets all the mess I always do at home with my sister Inina. (She is a poodle, and she is mommy's favorite.) But I give mommy my sweety kisses with my little tongue and mommy melts ... and forgets everything!      I like to sleep in the middle of the bed, because my mommy and my daddy give me a lot of love. That's where I belong, right?      My sister is a first class lady, but I am the candy of my family ... I make life sweet for everyone!
